HOW
DO I...
Obtain Telephone
Advice ?
Doctors: 01443 740447
The lines become very busy in the
morning, especially between 9.00 and 10.30am.
If your call can wait, please phone
in the early afternoon. If you wish to speak with the doctors please phone at
around 11.30am or arrange a convenient time with the receptionist. Please do not
use the telephone to request repeat prescriptions as this can lead to errors and
blocks the telephone lines.
HOW
DO I...
Make Non-Urgent Appointments ?
Doctors'
Consulting Hours
9.00am
to 12 noon each weekday, 4.00 to 6.00pm each weekday, except
Thursday. These surgeries are by appointments only.
The above consulting hours are by
appointment in advance. Consultation times soon become booked, so please allow
plenty of notice. Book one appointment per person. If you feel you need more time
with the doctor ask the receptionist for a longer appointment. You may choose
to see any of the three doctors but try and avoid changes especially during the
course of one illness or problem. We do try to keep appointment times but in the
nature of the job, there are bound to be delays - please be patient, it may be
your turn next for extra time with the doctor.
If you cannot keep your appointment,
please cancel in time for it can then be given to another patient.
HOW
DO I...
Make Urgent Appointments ?
At the end of each surgery we can
set time aside for those who need to be seen on the same day. Please do not use
this facility if your problem can wait for another day.
HOW
DO I...
Obtain
Home Visits ?
If you are too ill to attend
surgery you can request the doctor to call. We appreciate that illness cannot
be timed, but for non-urgent cases please telephone before 10.30am so that the
doctors' visits can be planned. If the problem is urgent please make it clear
to the receptionist. For all calls you will be asked to give brief details and
your telephone number.
Try to be reasonable in your request for home visits. It is much easier for the
doctor to assess and examine you in the surgery. Remember that in the time it
takes to do a home visit he could see about five patients in the surgery. Lack
of transport should not be a reason for a home visit.
